BIOGRAPHY - SONGWRITER & MUSICIAN

On October 16, 1966; Nancy (Hare) Muhaw gave birth to Glenn Muhaw in Pequannock, New Jersey; U.S.A.

Glenn MUHAW once asked his Father, " What does Muhaw mean?" His Father, a retired Metallurgical Engineer, claims the name is Polish ; MUCHA (Fly). The last name  was later renamed MUHAW by Glenn's Russian Grandfather.  " I never met my Grandfather, Glenn replies; and my Father sadly never payed any respects because my grandfather died as a result of alcholism, while working in restaurants and bars ".  Grandfather John Muhaw died in Passaic New Jersey, when Glenn's Father was age 16.

MUHAW is quite a mix being half Irish, quarter Russian, quarter Polish and has written several additional unrecorded songs; " A Stupor Down At The Crossroads", which is a song about life's choices, consequences. One more mistake you can lose it all. In another song, "Our Wheels Are Not Simple", MUHAW plays bottle neck guitar  while singing the lyrics, rollin on these wheels, I'm gonna take it slow, I'm gonna take a ride , I'm gonna let it rhyme. In addition these lyrics mention THE LORD will ring with echoes. These are some examples of what Glenn MUHAW is soul searching for ; a purpose within himself and for listeners who may or may not follow.

Glenn MUHAW was raised in Montville Twnship. NJ. At age 14, Glenn learned to play his brother Neil's Guild 12 string. Neil Muhaw 16 was hit by a car and later passed away in August, 1980., Frank and Nancy Muhaw re-purchased Neil's 1973 CBS Fender Strat, which was sold to Johnny Ladar of "The Rails" who later sold it back to Mr. and Mrs. Muhaw for Glenn. Glenn Muhaw graduated from Montville Township H.S. in 1985. From 1984-1985, Glenn was the guitar player for a High-School cover band "Active Culture"-Steve Moran- vocals, Rick Yorn- Drums ( The brother of Pete Yorn ) & Dave Boyer-Bass. After playing 3 shows to mostly NJIT students & @ Live Tonight in Hoboken NJ, East is East disbaned in 1993 due to the other member’s full-time jobs & lack of interest.

CREATIVE PROCESS: " I'm a self tought musician and songwriter. Usually I get a melody in my thoughts and then structure the music around the idea. Sometimes an idea comes together with the guitar first and then I fit the lyrics to the music". Glenn MUHAW
